The Music Got Me

Visual was a project by Boyd Jarvis and Timmy Regisford. This record was mixed by Loft regular Tony Humphries and was released by Prelude Records. Boyd Jarvis, who still makes music, conceived this tune as part of a WBLS New York audition for vocalist Timmy Regisford. The track had such a profound effect (for good reason) that they played it live in a couple of times before bringing it to Prelude.

This mind blowing proto house (or proto garage track) came to us in 1983. The bassline sounds like a TB303, but I don't think that it is. The synth lines are so soothing and sound similar to synth sounds from yacht rock of the era. The track builds and builds till it comes to a head and the vocal break instructs the hard working dancefloor to move their bodies.

This recording is definitely not in mono and we have fixed that problem. Moving forward all tracks will be recorded in stereo.

This one sure is in stereo.
Would it be a problem re-rippin the 2 tracks from Elite?

    Thanks.

Timmy Regisford is not a vocalist. He is a legendary NY DJ. He played on WBLS and owned the underground club The Shelter. He is a prolific mixer and producer as well. -C. Allan

People really should be doing their homework about the artists, producers, and mixers involved before writing about such an historical, classic track.

The Colonel makes sense, it sure sounds like him.I guess I read and regurgitated some misinformation. Anonymous, why don't you rewrite the post with perfect historical accuracy and I will update?

I have searched around and I haven't found one source that says the colonel sang this cut.
