Jack Party

Farley Jackmaster Funk got his break in 1981 as one of the Hot Mix 5 DJs on WBMX, in Chicago. He was a guest DJ at the Warehouse and resident at the Playground. This mix from the mid 1980's will blow your mind. It is amazing to hear so many styles of mixing done by one DJ. There are edits, mashups, and scratching along with straight mixing. Imagine hearing something this cutting edge on the Zapco stereo in your Datsun lowrider circa 1986.

Thanks for posting this set,Farley is the man! I was lucky enough to grow up in Chicago and have Farley supply the soundtrack for my teenage years, thx again!

Farley was the man back in the day. He, along with the other Hot Mix 5 members, had an elective taste in music. I cherish my tapes and look back fondly at a time when electro/new wave/house/rock/Italo, etc. could all be played within one single set and no one would flinch an eye. Keep 'em coming!

thank you for posting such an amazing mix.

I am very curious about the history of this mix, where did you get it? I can't find any record of this on any other site besides yours.
