The Mad Lads were a legendary Memphis sweet soul group that had a string of R&B hits in the sixties, recording on Stax fir a while. After two of the key members got drafted things sort of fell apart and the group's fortunes declined until eventually they broke up in the seventies.

 At some point in the mid eighties, former member John Williams put a version of the group back together again to play shows on the revival circuit, they even put out a couple of records in the run up to the nineties including this single re-mixed by Memphis boogie maestro Willie McClain.
